- Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Mark has introduced hundreds of guitarists to this wonderful musical style through his workshops at Lark in the Morning (California), The Aloha Music Camp (Hawai`i), Common Ground on the Hill (Maryland), the Swannanoa Gathering (North Carolina) WinterFest (Texas), and many others. Drawing inspiration from the Hawaiian slack key masters, he offers instruction at all levels, from beginner to professional.
- `Ukulele Whether you are brand-new to this delightful little instruement, or a seasoned uke-a-banger wanting to take your playing to the next level, Mark's got a workshop for you. Drawing on years of experience teaching kids and adults, his "Fun with Your `Ukulele" will have you singing and strumming in no time. Intermediate and advanced students will enjoy learning "Fingerstyle Solos for `Ukulele." Sound like fun? Remember, this is the guy who hosts the `Ukulele Happy Hour at Lark Camp..
- Appalachian Dulcimer
Mark has taught dulcimer at just about every festival and camp in the country. He uses a nonthreatening, hands-on approach that gets beginners up and running in no time. For more experienced players, he offers workshops on everything from arranging to stagecraft to specific repertoire from all over Ireland, Scotland, France, Appalachia and the South Pacific.
- Bodhran and Bones Mark learned to play the bodhran (an Irish frame drum) in Sligo town in the summer of 1975. He stresses musicality, rhythm and taste in his workshops. There's a lot more to it then flogging a dead goat! As for the bones....
- Mini Concerts and Lecture/Demonstrations In addition to hands-on musical instruction, Mark offers mini-concerts and lecture/demonstrations on a variety of topics. Perfect for Elder Hostel groups, schools, and folk festivals.
